Kyra Gaunt, Ph.D. is a digital ethnomusicologist of Black music studies, girlhood studies, and hip-hop feminist studies who illuminates the hidden musicianship of Black girls and the unintended consequences of music and tech on their lives online and off. Music and tech are grooming and orchestrating psychological and emotional violence against younger and younger Black girls on musical apps and platforms. Everybody profits but the Black girl.
